GALAXY STADIUM Texas Tech Athletic Director Kirby Hocutt announced to the press this week that Galaxy Digital, with facilities currently in operation in Dickens County, has acquired a 15-year naming rights partnership with Texas Tech Athletics. Jones AT&T Stadium will become Galaxy Stadium starting with the 2026 season. The agreement replaces AT&T’s naming rights, which expired in June after roughly 20 years tied to the venue. | TEXAS TECH ATHLETICS
HOSPITAL HELPERS HOST IN HEAT Staffers from Lockney’s WJ Mangold Memorial Hospital and West Texas National Bank assisted with serving a hamburger supper during the city’s July 23 KCBD Channel 11 Community Coverage event. The school district and local businesses were featured at the gathering in the city park—where proximity of the city swimming pool was a popular antidote to triple-digit temps.
