Delma Katherine Morris, 1929–2024

Delma Katherine Morris, age 94, of Floydada passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with diabetes on Saturday, April 6, 2024, in Lubbock, Texas.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Thursday, April 11, 2024, at the Moore-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Floydada. Burial followed at the Floydada Cemetery.

An open visitation was held from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at the Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada.

Arrangements are under the personal care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home.

Delma was born on September 14, 1929, in Lockney, Texas (Floyd County). She was the eldest child of five surviving children.

She married Woodie Mitchell Morris from Floydada, Texas, in Curry County, New Mexico, on March 4, 1950.

She played piano and was a Sunday school teacher at the Methodist Church in Floydada. She created and worked in her own beautician business for many years. In retirement, her greatest pleasure was received when spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodie, in 2014.

Delma is survived by her siblings, Mary, Carroll, Bobby and Donna. She is also survived by her two sons, Woodie Lynn Morris (Annette) and Donnie Morris (Karen); her grandchildren, Kim and Lisa; and six great-grandchildren, Makenzie, Taylor, Phoenix, Lexi, Jeremiah and Mariah.

She will be missed by many other relatives and friends.
